VCCP and CP+B cheekily monopolise on the launch of London's Night Tube

Published by

In news that will no doubt have been celebrated wildly throughout the capital over the weekend (and commiserated by the city's Uber drivers), the long-awaited Night Tube is finally a reality! The Night Tube rolled out over the weekend with 24-hour services on the Central and Victoria lines on Fridays and Saturdays, which will be followed by the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines in the Autumn.

So you can say goodbye to running for the last tube, wolfing down your dessert to catch the night bus, expensive cab rides and hasty farewells. At least if you live within walking distance of the lines covered of course. With this in mind, VCCP Kin teamed up with Cobra beer to pick of the Victoria and Central line’s best late-night eating spots, bring your own booze restaurants and, of course, restaurants which sell Cobra.

In related news, young creatives Liv Adda and Bryn Walters from CP+B decided to use the night tube unveiling as an excuse to display some makeshift night tube rules as part of a cheeky guerrilla campaign. They figured that day time rules don’t apply on a midnight underground train, so they decided to do something about it. They created a whole batch of new signs, called Night Tube Notices, and put them out in London to inform people how to behave on TFL’s new service. A collection of these signs can be found below. The pair said of their tongue-in-cheek campaign: “Friday marked the first day of the night tube, but we saw a problem. The day time rules don’t apply on a midnight underground train, so we decided we’d do something about it. We created a whole batch of new signs, called Night Tube Notices, and put them out in London to inform people how to behave on TFL’s new service.”
